We wanted create a video with global appeal. We chose to focus on the different restaurants in the game and their global locations. We specifically avoided any copy outside of the logo at the end so there was no language localisation. The video was a storming success significantly outperforming video and campaign KPIs across the board.
We used a CGI shuttle from the franchise in a short opening sequence to hook user's attention and highlight the IP without using one of the larger capital ships. We then went into a gameplay section that showed off in game upgrade mechanics in a simple and digestible style. We also showed more of the IP with the upgradeable shuttles. The video was the outstanding top performer on the campaign and we iterated upon the opening with different locations and ships to great success.

We wanted to use a CGI opening that would grab user's attention before going into the gameplay itself. We wanted to keep the CGI as close to the in-game look and feel so there would be no audience disconnect between that and the gameplay sections. We also designed the CGI to be quickly and easily customisable so we could change characters and backgrounds at speed. The video was a great success and each character/ location iteration continued to outperform KPIs for the game.
